  • Photos and Videos: Media of your dog taken during training sessions or shared with us between sessions. 
  • Social Media Information: If you engage with us on social media, we may collect your social media handle and any content you share with us.

  • Online Enquiry Forms: When you fill out forms on our website or other platforms to make an enquiry about our services.
  • Social Media: When you share content with us or tag us in photos or videos on platforms like Facebook or Instagram.
  • Training Sessions: We may take photos or videos during your dog’s training sessions to track progress, demonstrate techniques, or share educational content on our social media channels (with your consent).
  • Via Email - We may request further details after an enquiry over direct email.

  • To Provide Services: We use your contact and dog information to respond to enquiries, arrange and deliver training services, and communicate with you about your dog’s progress.

  • To Share Helpful Information: We like to share up to date and informative details of developments in both the dog world, and within our services. From time to time we will contact you via our mailing list. Note: this is an opt in option.

Your personal data is stored securely in Google Cloud Storage and IONIS, which is encrypted and protected. We ensure that access to your personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only and take necessary measures to prevent unauthorized access or data breaches.

Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions for Sniffin About Dog Training Services

These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between Sniffin About Dog Training (hereinafter referred to as “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the client (“you” or “your”) for the provision of dog training services, specifically for scent work sessions. By booking or participating in our services, you agree to comply with the terms outlined below.

Services Offered

We specialize in offering one-to-one scent work training for dogs and puppies. Sessions are conducted either:

  • In public spaces (such as parks or open fields).
  • In private hire fields 
  • In the client’s home, garden or private premises.

Our goal is to enhance your dog’s confidence, enjoyment and overall well-being by developing their natural scent detection abilities, the dog/ owner relationship and owner capabilities, through structured training exercises and personalized instruction.

Booking and Payments

  • Booking a Session: Sessions are booked through our website, email, or phone. You will receive a preliminary confirmation at the time of enquiry. 
  • Payment: Payments for sessions are made via invoice and bank transfer. Payment must be made 72 hours in advance of the training session. Your session will be confirmed at the point of payment, unless otherwise arranged. 
  • Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be made at least  hours in advance of the scheduled session. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the session may incur a cancellation fee of 50%. If you fail to attend a booked session without prior notice, no refund will be issued.
  • Rescheduling: You may request to reschedule a session, subject to availability, provided you give at least 48 hours’ notice. Rescheduling a session in less than 48 hours will adhere to the cancellation policy above. Please note that we cannot guarantee a session can be rescheduled, and we do not prioritise rescheduled sessions. Should a session be rescheduled 3 times we will not issue a refund and your sessions may be cancelled. 

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Dog Health: It is your responsibility to ensure your dog is in good health prior to each session. You must inform us of any medical conditions, injuries, or behavioural issues your dog may have. We reserve the right to refuse or terminate a session if we believe continuing would jeopardize the welfare of your dog or others.
  • Vaccinations: Your dog must be up-to-date with all vaccinations, including any required by law or for public health and safety. Proof of vaccination may be required before the commencement of the first session. Up to date titre tests that show full immunity are also accepted.
  • Aggressive Behaviour: You are required to inform us if your dog has a history of aggression toward people or other animals. If aggressive behaviour is observed during a session, we may terminate the session immediately for safety reasons. No refund will be provided in such cases.

Public Space Sessions

  • Responsibility for Your Dog: When training in public spaces, you are responsible for controlling your dog and ensuring it is kept on a lead where required by law. You must comply with local by-laws and regulations regarding dogs in public spaces.
  • Liability: You are responsible for any damage or injury caused by your dog to third parties, property, or other animals during a session in a public space. Sniffin About will not be held liable for any injuries, loss, or damage that occurs unless it is directly due to our negligence.

Home Visits

  • Environment: For in-home sessions, you must provide a safe, secure, and appropriate environment for training. This includes removing any hazards that could affect the session’s safety or success.
  • Pet Insurance: It is your responsibility to ensure your dog is covered by appropriate pet insurance that includes third-party liability.

Weather and Session Conditions

  • Weather Cancellations: Outdoor sessions may be rescheduled due to extreme weather conditions such as storms, excessive heat, or other circumstances that could affect the safety and wellbeing of both you and your dog. In these cases, we will reschedule the session at no additional cost.
  • Session Adjustments: If weather conditions are suboptimal but safe, the session may be adjusted or relocated (for example, to a more sheltered location, or reduced in duration). We may be able to inform you of these changes in advance but please be aware that adjustments may be made within the sessions to ensure your dogs health and wellbeing i.e. signs of over-heating or lack to body temperature relation. 

Use of Media

  • Photos and Videos: We may take photos or videos during training sessions for the purpose of progress tracking, marketing, or social media sharing. By participating in our sessions, you consent to this. If you do not wish for your dog’s image to be used for these purposes, please inform us in advance.
  • Social Media: You are welcome to share any photos or videos taken during the session on your personal social media platforms, provided Sniffin About is credited.

Client Responsibilities

  • Compliance with Instructions: You agree to follow all training instructions and advice provided by Sniffin About. Your involvement is key to your dog’s progress.
  • Punctuality: You are expected to be on time for sessions. If you are more than 15 minutes late, the session may be shortened to fit within the originally booked time slot, or the session may be cancelled with no refund.
  • Appropriate Equipment: You must ensure that your dog is fitted with appropriate equipment (collars, harnesses, etc.) for training, as advised by us.We do not allow the use of prong collars or any electrical collars in sessions. Slip leads are permitted to be worn to enter and sessions but are not permitted as a training tool i.e. for yank, or correct the dog. Should this equipment be attended to, you may be asked to fit alternative equipment. Inability/ unwillingness to do so may result in the session being terminated, no refund will be given. 

Liability and Indemnity

  • Trainer Liability: Sniffin About and its trainers will exercise all reasonable care and skill in providing training services. However, we cannot be held liable for any injuries, accidents, or property damage that occur during or after the training sessions unless caused by our negligence.
  • Client Liability: You agree to take responsibility for your dog’s actions during and after the training sessions. You acknowledge that Sniffin About is not responsible for any injuries, damages, or legal claims arising from your dog’s behaviour outside the context of our training sessions.
  • Indemnity: You agree to indemnify and hold Sniffin About harmless from any claims, demands, losses, or liabilities arising from any breach of these terms or your dog’s actions during training sessions.

Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel a session in the event of unforeseen circumstances, including trainer illness or emergencies. In such cases, we will reschedule the session at a mutually convenient time, or you will receive a full refund if rescheduling is not possible.

Privacy

We take your privacy seriously. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

Changes to These Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. You will be notified of any significant changes. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
